Welcome to PageColor.comStrange times are these in which we live, when old and young are taught in falsehoods school. And the one man that dares to tell the truth is called at once, a lunatic and fool. - Plato

Welcome to PageColor.com

Chakra-Colors.com has a link to ColorBasics (Read more about Color Theory.) Is that the correct site to link to?

todo - PageColor's claim to fame will be the "full page" of color... but it
will also be a simple (use the currently developed pages) for web based
color picking, etc.     Probably will have a simple version of the color picker.

todo - Each folder with a name ending in "PAGECOLOR.COM" probably has a duplicate on the server with the same name. One of them will have to be deleted.

todo - search for "it's" and replace with "its" if necessary.

todo - Seach and remove any:

align="center"

align="left"

align="right"

todo - See ColorDots in Illusion-Optical.com. It has a link to Sound-Physics/index.php (which is not correct to start with). See if there is a better site to link to.

todo - See Web/BackupSites/InDevelopment/ WebSafe-ColorsFolder

Color Notes from Daniel:

Lightness from RGB = 0.3 Red + .59 Green + .11 Blue

Titles and Graphics should combine Reds and Blues

They have different focal points, so when they're combined, the eye's
strain switching back and forth .

It's best to communicate detail in grayscale... Communicates well for
most color blindness (all?) which comprise about 10 percent.

Surrounding blocks of colors with black or white lines really help make
the boundaries "standout"

Color Notes from Daniel:

Ok... since you didn't get me the color zip... I'm just going to put
in an e-mail the various additional factoids we'll want on the color
sites...

------------------

Someone with 20/20 vision is able to distinguish things that are at
least 1 arc minute (1 / 60th ) of a degree apart. Things closer than
this are lumped together. For a 1280x1024 pixel monitor

todo 1 arc minute calculator for any distance.

------

Fusion Rate

The rate of a screen update must be greater than the fusion rate in
order that the data look like it's permanently visible.. Below this
rate, some people can see computer display monitors flicker for example.

Cell Motion, a term for the old comic strips that were made with
multiple sheets of cellophane, need to be at least moved 15 times per
second in order to be believably perceived as moving.

Updating movement more slowly than that is seen by some people to be
jerky and inconsistent.

Check these:

7 mil cones/eye
15 mill rods/eye

Distinction:

People can perceived over 2000 shades of gray when lined up together.
(todo examples?)

128+ levels of green

64 ish (todo check this) levels of red

32 ish levels of blue.

Another color viewpoint

color blindness statistics suggest that the eyes work on difference
vectors...

red/green color blindness

yellow/blue color blindness

important aspect to cover in more detail

the red cones and green cones overlap each other.

In fact, they overlap each other so much, some illusions use this to
trick the eyes.

ntsc, the national trans??? ...

ntsc devotes 267 parts of it's signal to grayscale.
96 parts to orange/blue. This is set relatively hi to make skin
coloration easier to perceive.

Our eyes are not able to perceive many gradients of blue. Large variations only are perceived. The color signal for the TV take this into account.

Daniel will do a graph of 256 colors of blue to show that we can distinguish only a few differences. He'll have a red and green graph to show the difference.
