HTML Colors

Working with colors can be a lot of fun, but rarely do people considier working with Hex codes as fun. In order to make things a little easier for web developers, the CSS Web Standards committee defined 17 colors that you can use by name.

There are a few different ways of applying a color in CSS. The results are exactly the same in the following examples:

strong {color: green; }
strong {color: #00ff00; }
strong {color: rgb(0%, 100%, 0%); }
strong {color: rgb(0, 255, 0); }

A large number of other colors were defined in a standard called: HTML+, which unfortunately never really got off the ground. Those colors are supported by most browsers. They are:
